1950
Αll started in 1950, when Panagiotis Marlafekas, the founder of the business, created a small workshop in a relatively limited space on Pantokratoros Street in the Old Town of Patras.
1967
The years passed and Lοux's course was steadily upward. However, the small unit based on Pantokratoros Street could no longer meet the needs that had been created in the market. This fact, combined with the arrival of multinationals in Greece since 1967, made the need to relocate the business to the famous Kefalovrysos imperative.
1987
Launch of Lux Cola, the first Greek soft drink of the cola type.
2004
Bringing back sour cherry to the market, becoming Loux's 2nd most successful soft drink.
2006
Selection of Loux products by the Hellenic Export Promotion Organization for the "Kerasma" program
2009
Awarded with the "Kouros" Award for development and innovation.
2014
It becomes the official soft drink of the Greek Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Acquisition of 42.34% of Dirfys Water Bottles S.A.

INSTALLATIONS

Today, Loux has a fully integrated production line for total and absolute quality control regarding the production of PET plastic bottles, from the harvesting and sorting of the raw material, to the bottling and merchandising at the point of sale.

It has three privately owned modern units, of production, bottling and distribution, spanning a total area of 33,000 sqm.

The first unit is the plant in Kefalovrissos.

All of the LOUX drinks are produced here using the state-of-the-art equipment, along with the fully automated processes and the most advanced international quality control methods for hygiene and packaging.

With the key ingredient being the excellent quality of Kefalovrissos water, the addition of natural fruit juices and the selection of raw materials, along with the ideal balance of carbonate, LOUX soft drinks stand out for their quality and purity, offering delightfully refreshing flavours, with unique Greek taste.

The second unit is the distribution centre, located in the area Saravali.

The third unit, packaging production, is located in Aigio. LOUX is the only Greek company in its sector to possess a vertically integrated packaging plant of such modern standards.

With the latest technology machinery and fully automated processes, PET type packages are produced here. At this facility is the production of the flagship LOUX plastic bottles, with the distinctive shape and textured surface - inspired by the orange peel - which makes each LOUX refreshment even more special.

Here again, quality control is very strict and done without any compromise. It starts by sorting the raw material - to ensure that they come from primary and not recycled material - and continues non-stop, until the last step in the production process. This results in the production of outstanding quality packaging, ensuring longer life and excellent preservation of products.

In particular, the unit is now specialized in the stages of production of plastic preforms and final shaping of Loux's plastic bottles. Specifically, in the first stage (preform), the company has a production capacity of 130 million pieces per year, while in the second stage 150 million pieces per year, which is expected to double with the addition of modern technological equipment in 2019.

Quality is a foundation stone for the philosophy and the operation mode of Loux. It is a concept closely linked with the product safety, namely, the protection of National Health. Furthermore, it the company’s commitment and primary duty to steadily expand ,develop, and upgrade all the management systems.

The company invests heavily in plant and equipment to make Loux soft drinks and tea produced with the most up-to-date machines, fully automated processes and the most advanced international quality control, hygiene processes and packaging methods.

Since 1999, the company has developed systems of quality management based on ISO 9001, which has already been upgraded to ISO 9001:2015 and FSSC: 22000 from 2017. For export purposes, Loux has also been certified by Kosher.

The international certifications on Food Safety and Hygiene by esteemed international organizations guarantee that Loux offers soft drinks of high quality and safety.

Specifically, Loux was awarded a certificate for being shortlisted in the "The most admired enterprises in Greece" category, in an event dedicated to innovation and successful entrepreneurship, elements which have been distinctive of Loux's profile through the years.

Later the same year Loux was recognized one more time for its business excellence in the Outsourcing Awards "Creative Greece 2018".

Loux was awarded as a top corporate brand in Greece at the Superbrands Corporate Greece 2018-2019 competition.

In addition, later the same year the company received a certificate at the Diamonds of the Greek Economy 2019 for its business excellence.

The innovative series of loux plus 'n light and loux plus 'n light tea won the Silver Award in Healthy Diet Awards 2020 at the section of Light Product of the Year and specifically at the category of "Light Beverage Products".

The company was honored with the "Regional Excellence" Award in the "Greek Value 2019" of Greek Industries’ Association for its contribution to the growth and cohesion of West Greece.

Loux was distinguished as "Firm and Tradition" at the EVEA ceremony for its contribution to the Greek economy.

Recently the firm was distinguished as SUPPLIERS 'BRAND CAMPAIGN at the Retail Business Awards Ceremony while it was also awarded for its business Excellence at the "Diamonds of the Greek Economy 2020".

Loux stood out in the 20th annual Marketing & Sales Conference receiving a Gold Medal for its 70 years of tradition and history.

Starting dynamically in 2021, the company won the "Export Leaders Awards" for its performance in the field of extroversion, at the annual meeting "GREECE OF EXTROVERSION - EXPORT LEADERS FORUM 2021" organized by New Times Publishing. At the Commerce and Industry Awards 2021, the company was distinguished as a key supplier to the largest supermarket chains. In addition, for the 7th year, it was distinguished as "Diamond of the Greek Economy", in the eponymous event organized by the same publishing company.

Loux earned the honorary distinction of "Greek Business Champion of the Decade", as a company that achieved an increase in turnover and profits before taxes of more than 50%, comparing the 2010 to 2019, at the "Protagonists of Greek Economy" awards. In addition, for the 2nd consecutive year the company was distinguished as Suppliers ’Brand Campaign at the Retail Business Awards 2021.

Continuing its dynamic course Loux was awarded at Business Superbrands Greece in the category of non-alcoholic beverages and beverages in general. Specifically, she was distinguished at the Business Superbrands Greece 2021-2022 as a leading Corporate Brand in Greece.

In November 2021, Loux acquired 42.34% of the shares of the Water Bottling Company DIRFYS SA, as a targeted investment in the bottled water industry.

Recently, Loux won a double distinction at the Supermarket Awards 2021, winning the Gold Award as a "Traditional Greek Business" and the Bronze Award in the category "Marketing & Communication (Food)" for its 70-year anniversary campaign.

Loux received the "Georgios Avlonitis" Marketing award at MADE IN GREECE 2022 awards showcasing its high performance in the marketing sector.

In 2022, the company launched loux Tea series, as well as the loux free orange juice without carbonate, without added sugar and technical sweeteners, without preservatives and with reduced calories & a low glycemic index.

With a double award, it stood out at the Healthy Food Awards 2023. It was distinguished in the category "Healthy Beverage Product for Children" with the Silver award for loux free and in the category "Free From or Low Beverage Product" with the Bronze award for the loux Tea series.
